Last night we went to Gay Bingo, which is a monthly fundraiser hosted by the Sisters of the Perpetual Indulgence for the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Just so its clear... we didn't go to gamble, drink, dress up like nerds and hang out with drag queens... we went because we are charitable, giving souls and could think of no other way to be charitable. Or at least no better way to be charitable.
Our night began at Hooters...by the time 8 of us where there, in lab coats and nerd wear, we were attracting quite a bit of attention...and not the usual kind of attention ladies get at Hooters. In fact, I think we were such a spectacle that no one noticed the lady breast-feeding her baby at the table next to us.
The Bingo theme was Revenge of the Nerds. There could not have been a more fitting theme for us and our group of friends... not that they are all nerdy, but...well, they are. We didn't win any prizes at our table, but we were killer fast with our daubers and were a totally wicked cool group of bingo players.
Note: Sara's "costume" consisted of buttoning up the top button on her shirt before we left the bar and putting on one of my lab coats. My wife McQ gets the prize for the best shirt, "Math is Fun" with Ernie and Bert. Here are some photos... we all looked totally hot. Who knew Church of the Monday Night Football ladies could be so hip and cool?
