Quick weekend recap...

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, btw.

We did a lot of family things this weekend. Starting with cutting down a tree in my moms backyard. It was a big white pine...while it looks like sara did most of the work...I would like to remind folks that nothing gets done without the ground crew...and that was me (well, and Sara's dad, his friend and my mom. Ok, I had a lot of help working the rope and looking up)

Gearing up...

The first few limbs down...

Down to the trunk....

and a few last cuts! I have to admit I was REALLY impressed. Not only did all the cut limbs miss both fences (the tree was in the corner of the yard), nothing had be retrieved from neighbors yards and not a single limb was broken on the dogwood and lilac directly under the pine...two things my mom had hoped could be saved, but was willing to replant if needed.

That is girl is good. No doubt about it.

We wore mom out and when we got back from family obligation #2, Saras cousins wedding...this is what we found. Poopsy-Sue and mom taking a nap on the couch. Poopsy woke up and gave us the stink-eye before we could snap a shot of them both sleeping... pretty darn cute!

The next morning we were off to visit nieces and nephews. There was a birthday party too. Pictures from my sister...

Here is Sara, myself and my half-sister the bicyclist... the genes we share include smart and good-looking, and clearly do NOT include height. And here is the party itself... you can probably tell why we didn't stay long!

We were in the car in time to listen to the Seahawks trash the Rams and had enough time upon returning home to prepare for the week.

There will be more information soon regarding our recently being domestically partnered... so far, marriage is just awful (wink).

She really has to strap on a lot of stuff, doesn't she?

That tree stuff looks scary. Um, want to come up to CT? We've got a couple of huge trees that need to be cut back.

The pictures are great, not bad at all for a cell phone. That looks like fun.

Whooo-eee. What a day! The work went amazingly fast, the company was superb and the tree is now history. Sara was agile and felled limb and trunk (tree, of course) with pinpoint accuracy. Jenn handled the rope like the cowgirl she is, and made sure none of us lost hearing ("ear plugs, everyone"). Sara, Jenn, Sara's Dad and his frd reminded me of how nice an extended family/community can be. Thanks to you all. PS Poopsy Sue was thrilled to be in pictures. Love, Jenn's Mom

Syd - she really knows how to use it all too...
sf/weese - Hm...maybe I can barter for her services.
Lost - The coolest part is when she starts the chain saw in mid-air. Wow!
Ma-moo, thanks for putting us up and feeding so well while we were there! Give Poopsy a snuggle for us!
